Strike a Chord for Cancer is a foundation that supports children who need inspiration and a distraction from their fight against cancer.
Strike A Chord for Cancer offers the gift of music through donating instruments, professional tutoring, opportunities to perform in bands, record CD’s and meet some of the world’s greatest rock stars.
For the families, the foundation provides financial support whilst their children are undergoing treatment.
Strike a Chord For Cancer also raises awareness for colon, rectal and bowel cancer.
In essence, we are here to help in any way we can. Whether it be a piece of equipment, a music therapy room for a hospital, or a much needed air fare for a child who needs to get treatment.

This guitar was signed exclusively by Bon Jovi in Perth, for Strike A Chord, and auctioned off at the ball.
HOW
We rely on support from the broader community, as well as the corporate sector and industry groups, through donations, sponsorships, and a multitude of fundraising events and activities that are carefully planned and carried out throughout the year. To donate to Strike A Chord, click here.

Strike A Chord For Cancer Founder John Zaccaria.
It was during his long recovery period that he met and came into contact with some amazing people and hardworking medical staff, that inevitably changed his life and gave him the determination to form this wonderful foundation.
John quickly learned that despite the great medical advances, and no matter how much funding was pumped into health in this country, there is never enough. And its not just the lack of funding and financial support for the hospitals and care facilities, but what about the individuals, the sufferers, the families, that all need support, something to distract them from their illness, some way to lift their spirits and provide much needed inspiration?
With his background in the music industry, it was John Zaccaria’s determined resolve to form a unique foundation that could draw on music, in as many ways as possible, to enrich the lives of those that are affected by cancer.
In March 2008, the Foundation was granted the special Charitable Collector’s Licence from the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection in Western Australia, which then followed with the formation of a board and governing committee.
