Strike a Chord for Cancer Foundation Making life better by striking a chord in someones heart

Strike A Chord get Little Evie started on her own set of elecronic drums. Here is Evie’s story, in her own words:

Dear Strike A Chord,

My name is Evie. I am ten years old.

When I was eight I was diagnosed with cancer in my left leg. When I got cancer, I started to get pain in my left leg. So we went to the doctors and they just said it was growing pains.

But we didn’t trust them and so we went to the hospital and I had a scan and the people at the hospital saw cancer. So I had to have a line put in my chest for the chemo, (which is the medicine).

I then had lots of chemo but the tumour got bigger. So in August 2008 I had to have my leg cut off me.

Then for the next year I had lots more chemo and I was in hospital much more often than before.

Now my chemo has stopped and I have my line out “YEAH!”

Strike A Chord gave me a drum set and some drumming lessons. Now I’m feeling great and I’ve been discharged on 22nd July.
