MUSIC FOR LIFE is an extension of the Strike A Chord core mission – to provide a distraction for brave kids with cancer, by giving the gift of music. MUSIC FOR LIFE brings smiles to faces, by providing musical instruments and music tuition, to these kids.
Thanks to the financial assistance of DATACOM, Australia’s leading technology solutions provider, and the huge selection of instruments available at KOSMIC SOUND, Australia’s largest and most respected music retailer, Strike A Chord can provide musical instruments to the kids and then send them off to music lessons.
But what’s the next step? Why not share the passion for music with others? By shaping them into young guitarists, drummers, bass players, keyboard players or even vocalists, Strike then give them the opportunity to join a real life rock band and perform live! Thanks to the great work of West End Music Academy (WEMA), our budding young musicians join our special Strike a Chord band – RADIOACTIVE, and perform live in front of their family, friends, and others, at designated events.
As Strike A Chord rolls out nationally and globally in 2010, the Music For Life program will be an integral part of what we do, and will be expanded to reach even more brave young kids, because we know that when one heart strikes a chord in the heart of another, the resulting melody will last a lifetime.
